All of this talk and illustrations about Denville have me thinking a lot about it. I remember seeing the LS Young Coal yard back around 1965 when I rode #41 from Mountain View to Denville where it was turned to become the last e/bound of the morning. We were turned on the wye. All of those remote controlled switches and colored light signals made me think of it being a full-size Lionel layout. Does anyone know what the track layout was back in the 40s when the Rockaway loop was present? I'm not sure whether Taber covered that track plan in his Lackawanna books.
