We have been reminded that what I remember was the Gil Reid painting. So far, no one has answered the original question: Did Howard Fogg ever do an Erie K5a? If what the questioner has is really a Fogg, it is undoubtedly an early one because, as has also been noted, he signed his full name only on the earliest of his renderings. It is also an unknown and unmined resource. As I said, I'd love to see a picture of the picture. Randy Brown - -------------------------------------------------------------- > I seem to recall an early Fogg reproduced in an old Trains magazine, in black & white, which they titled, "No. 1, Of > Course!" I'll search to see if I can find more. > > Any chance of a picture of the picture? > > Randy Brown Randy, I don't think that was an early Fogg. I remember when it was newly announced as a print available from Kalmbach. I suppose it to be possible that it was a late ISSUE of the PRINT, and it's an early painting, but that's not my impression. My time frame for the issue of the print is when I lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which means 1978ish to ca. 1991 or 2. I'd say later in that stretch, not earlier.
