The June 1947 "Trains" has a feature on Rochester which while soft on operating detail has some excellent photos and a full page (remember "Trains" was in a 10 1/4" x 7" format at the time) map by W. A. Akin, Jr. showing all steam and electric railways between Fairport on the east, Genesee Junction on the West, Lake Ontario on the north, and the former NYC Canandaigua-Batavia line on the south. It even picks up the Erie Canal and the NYS Barge Canal and a good number of the New York State Railways Rochester lines plus the other Rochester-centered interurbans. The only significant omission I noted was the Rochester & Manitou.
This map is typical of the excellent map work that once characterized "Trains" and seems much rarer today.
