Thanks, Ray, but much, if not most, of the credit gors to Dave Short. Dave had most of the contact with Howard and negotiated the vertical format which we needed for the book cover. However, Howard insisted on it being a commissioned work, because most of his paintings were horizontal so they cpould be used for greeting cards by Leanin'Tree. I happened to be in a position to help out with the funding. You say the posters are still available. I still have some, along with the note cards. Randy Brown - -------------------------------------------------------------- Randy, You're being far too modest when you merely said you own the Howard Fogg painting "Hudson." Not only do you own it, but you commissioned Howard Fogg to paint it, later giving permission to the Bergen-Rockland Chapter (NRHS) to reproduce it for their softcover book "Rails Along The Hudson" (now out of print) and their 17"x 22" poster print (still available) of the same, depicting NYC Hudson # 5309 with the "Twentieth Century Limited" northbound (westbound) about to enter the tunnel beneath "Anthony's Nose" Mountain (north Peekskill) opposite Bear Mountain, for which the Chapter is indebted to you and again thanks you. Ray Wetzel (B-R Chapter, NRHS). </HTML> The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org To Unsubscribe: http://lists.elhts.org/erielackunsub.html ------------------------------
