Steve, Thanks for all the good info about the Mahoning. Can I get another dig or two in? 1.) Did they ever route a fast freight (74s, 97s, 98s, 99s, 100s) down the First via Youngstown for traffic reasons, say if a 100 would otherwise face a run of westbounds on the cut-off? I'm sure it happened for derailments and what-not, but I wondered if it was considered a regular traffic option. 2.) Did any of the road freights headed for Meadville and points east ever stop at SN to set out small blocks for First sub points like Niles and Brier Hill, then and then proceed via the cut-off? If so, did they shuttle switch jobs out to SN to retrieve such cars, or wait for the next 78 or 94 to take them? 3.) Sorry, one more -- east of Meadville, did the EL keep running the RC-98 and MF-74 up to Buffalo thru early 1976? I would imagine that after April 76, Conrail had no need for those runs. Thanks again!
