Steve, Do you recall any westbound runthroughs originating at Meadville? For several years, WCE (West Coast Expediter), the train to N&W at N, originated there, at least on paper. Do you recall CNW-97 originating there in 1975-76? NY-99 set off C&NW TOFC at Meadville at that time, but it may have been forwarded to Marion by another train. Paul B AF was a telegraph symbol for Meadville West Yard but it was not used much outside the communications department. If XD telegraph (read teletype) office sent a message to Meadville, it went to AF for the yard operations, and to HF (Meadville Ticket Office-Operator) for everyone and everything else. I don't recall an AF-97 operating from Meadville so perhaps this was a train that was made up at Marion.
