Re: (erielack) Fwd: [NYC-Railroad] re: Erie Railroad

Between which bankruptcies did the NYC allegedly own the Erie?

I think they're confusing the Erie with the Nickle Plate or B&O.

This one is going to get interseting. Central folks are sure of themselves
as are Erie people. Sure look forward to the points being proven. i look
forward to the book and its documenations and the proof.

This is pretty far-fetched IMHO. "That new 99/100 schedule looks pretty
good, but let's run it by the folks at the Central to see if they'll let us do
it." Give me a break. Any communication that begins with "All will be
revealed..." tends to put my BS meter in the red zone.

It is the tip of the iceberg. All will be revealed in one of my upcoming
books. But, the NYC held ownership of about 20% of Erie continuing into
Erie-Lackawanna. To make a long story short, the NYC went so far as to
dictate the schedules of certain Erie trains, including passenger trains
and TOFC business so as to not provide direct competition with primary NYC
trains. A lot of backroom deals were involved.
