Rich, I gather it will serve local traffic in the Phoenix-Tucson area as well as the Nogales gateway. Not dead but gasping ;-) Are there any others that got under my radar? Paul B In reply to your statement when was the last hump yard built: UP has plans drawn already and is waiting for local government approval, to build a 44 track mini-hump yard in Red Rocks, Arizona (West of Tucson). Construction could start later this year. So the hump yard isn't dead yet.
