The Braceville-Phalanx segment was only about 2 miles long. It's a pity the EL couldn't afford to buy the trackage at the time of abandonment. It would have saved a lot of time for 61/62. I stand corrected on Cleveland perishables; the business was "owned" by NKP period. I imagine the same held for Buffalo. Paul B Larry DeYoung spells it out in the Diamond and in EL in Color Volume 1: The West End. The Erie crossed the NYC at Braceville on an old branch line - Lake Erie, Alliance and Wheeling. Erie had rights to use it to connect to the Cleveland line at Phalanx. NYC eventually abandoned the branch due to lack of online business.
