Rick is correct on this............... The NYC line crossed the Erie (2nd Sub) at Braceville (B) and ran to Phalanx where it connected with the Erie (1st Sub). The Erie operated it's Kent - Cleveland service using the NYC and setting off and picking up cars at Phalanx. (Cal Banse---was this still in operation when you hired out?) When I started in 1965 the line was gone North of the 2nd Sub at Braceville but for a another year or so, the Kent Local interchanged cars with the NYC at Braceville. As additional information, Phalanx is virtually a ghost town presently with the Erie (EL) being gone as well as the general store/post office and most of the houses that were there. Also, that NYC line remained in service as far as north of Newton Falls to service the Rockwell-Standard plant where auto bumpers were made--back in the days when bumpers were steel with chrome plating! The NYC line also served the Newton Falls power plant with coal, but that is getting off the list content and could raise the temperature of the List Police.
