SGL, This information can be found in the book called Erie Memories by Ed Crist. This is on page 26 in the chapter covering the Mahoning Division. I also heard it from another source but, can't remember who, or what it was. Another part of the equasion is that after the NYC was torn up, the Erie - EL had to go into Leavittsburg to run around the train, then on to Cleveland. Hope this helps.
