Did a quick search of the archives at Steamtown and came up with the
following folders on Campville. Let me know if either sounds of interest.

Please respond to
"EL Mail List"
Camplville was an important shipping point for livestock back around 1880,
which accounts for the substantial station. There were extensive stock pens
there. Livestock was driven up from Northern Pennsylvania and loaded on the
Erie at Campville. There was a bridge across the Susquehanna back then. It
may be that when the DL&W extension to Buffalo the picked up some of that
business.
The photo you saw is probably from the Smithsonian Collection. I beleive
that after the "Next Stop Will Be" books were printed the glass plate negs
went there.
At any rate, the Tioga County Historical used a photo of the Campville
Station in a local histry they printed and the copy came from the
Smithsonian. Bill Caloroso in Nichols can fill you in on the details and
probably can get you a copy. His phone number is 607-699-3172.
In any case, the Tioga County Hist Soc will have a photo you can examine.
