(erielack) Re: Erie gray-green, one of the other family colors

"The dark green of the ERIE passenger paint scheme is, I think, the SAME as the Northern Pacific
color. A blind-copied person who will receive this email will advise me on that, I'm sure.

However, that person, who I know, has the official color records AND drift cards for the EMD paints.
The ERIE light color, which I call gray-green, is NOT the same as the NP light green color. In
fact, it appears from those records that it is a completely unique (oop, unique is unique, so the
qualifier isn't necessary or correct . . .), that is, unique color among ALL the EMD-applied paints.

I have been rather informally bugging this person to issue these colors in Scalecoat for at least
five years. He knows I'd prefer Scalecoat 1, but he's not interested in that, only Scalecoat II.
The last conversation we had about it he said he wasn't very happy with Weaver lately, and didn't
want to do any more custom colors with him (this person has had several other custom colors made in
Scalecoat.). Who did I think he should work with?

OK, so that's where that got left. I'll accept recommendations as to manufacturer. Who would those
on the list interested in this color prefer?"

I have somewhat sizable segments (4"x8") of wood siding from an Erie building, one painted the grey-green "Station" color, and the other the dark green, acquired in the early 1970's (Trust me, officer, they just fell off the building and landed at my feet!). Would they be of use to you in this endeavor?

I like Pollyscale paint. Works great for me.
