The door was always on the right side to facilitate "curbside" loading. Very common in early TOFC trailers, this door was eventually eliminated by the end of the 1960's, partly to reduce theft: one less portal of entry. Paul B Forgot to mention Sheepscot has a 35' Volume Van, not sure if the model has the door on the right side or not.
