The Summer after the merger I took color print shots of the Speno rail grinder coming through South Orange on Track 1 and it had an ex-CNJ tender painted boxcar red complete with the CNJ herald on it. Power was an RS3. On the rear was a DL&W Keyser Valley hack with two men spraying water from hoses in a feeble attempt to put out fires. As I recall, the South Orange Fire Department finally made them cease grinding as they set a couple of blazes behind the houses east of there.
