RE: (erielack) Brief book review and EL Steam Loco Tenders



Thanks for posting those photos, Bill.

A200 is, I think, one of the replacement tenders ordered from Baldwin with the order of C-3 0-8-0s,
which led to that builder's photo often seen of the small switcher with the enormous tenders.
Interesting is the slots which were cut into the collar around the water tank deck to allow water to
drain off, and the pretty ugly streaking that caused.

The other tender, 04023, looks like it's an S-3 tender, easily identified by the double vertical row
of rivets at the mid-point of the side.  Very odd "porthole" windows (?) in the collar of the coal
space.
