Mike and List, Good memory, Mike! In the early EL years, the classification for train 100 included "Livestock, Chester NY". Assuming these cars were set off directly by #100 and not forwrded by a local from P Jervis, the calendar photo shows it was a convenient trailing-point siding for this eastbound train, which came through in the wee hours. It also indicates this train operated via the Main line and not the Graham line, at least on days it carried livestock. There must have been some sort of holding pen with ramp; perhaps someone can locate a photo. I believe this facility was strictly for kosher butchers. The classification is found in the June 1961 and June 1963 schedules, but not the '66. The August page of the 2005 calendar shows #100 coming through Hornell with the Chester setout on the headend, consisting of two of the former Erie 50' stockcars converted from boxcars by cutting rectangular holes in the sides. It was not a high-volume move, so I suspect two cars was typical.
