Re: (erielack) EL RS3 leases to CNJ (2)



On the contrary, I believe CR ran all that they could after 4/1/76, 
including any remaining EL Alco RS2's/3's - CR was power-short from the 
beginning, even leasing power from various sources (CN, BAR, etc) to keep up 
w/traffic.

I was going to school in Kent, OH at the time, and photographed the local 
out of Youngstown several times w/RS's on the point (including one that had 
a CNJ caboose working in Ravenna).  This lasted at least through mid-'77, 
probably 'til they experienced a major failure.

I recall photographing several in dead storage at Brier Hill in late '77, 
maybe early '78, taking some detail shots, knowing that this might be the 
last I'd see of the RS's....
