Many factors affect your perception of "color." Light is most of them. Are you looking at it in the glare of the noonday sun, or the gloom (relative) of your railroad? Or, maybe, the pretty bright paint booth?
How do the grays match? Could you overspray the PAs with gray to calm them down?
I have a slide showing a locomotive made up of 3 units of road-switcher ("GP") style bodies in the EL scheme of gray body with maroon band and yellow striping (GMY). Each of the three maroons is noticeably different from the other two, and the grays vary a little, too -- yet all are, by definition, "correct" because they existed.
So -- have fun!
