I was born and raised in Susquehanna. PA. My father was a foreman at the coach shop in Susquehanna. My earliest memories are riding Erie trains to Buffalo to visit relatives in that city. My father was transferred from Buffalo to Susquehanna by the Erie about 1930. My mother came there as a new bride. I have fond memories watching big berkshire engines with a santa fe type on front and 1 or 2 more on the rear taking a mile of reefers up accross Starucca Viaduct to Gulf Summit.
