Hi, List. I'll agree with Schulyer on the Klein book. It's a really good one. I thought that I'd mention that the movie "The Toast of New York" (1937) has characters of Jim Fisk and Daniel Drew, but not Jay Gould. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029675/ It has Cary Grant in it, but does not give him too much to do. That is likely the reason it was made available on VHS, back in 1991. List price was/is $89.95, according to Amazon.com, which owns the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB). A IMDB reader wrote that "the film itself was dreadfully uninteresting," which sums it up well. Mike Nickerson Tracy, California USA http://lists.elhts.org/cgi-bin/lists/wilma.cgi/erielack-digest.archive was consulted to see if the movie had been mentioned before. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Schuyler Larrabee" <schuyler.larrabee_@_verizon.net> If you read "Jay Gould" by Maury Klein, published by Johns Hopkins, you can come to no other conclusion. Gould DID pillage the ERIE, and after that saw "the error of his ways," and began to create wealth by building things up, rather than simple financial manipulation.
