Bob, I am a dues paying member. Your use of the word "we" does not include me. I would prefer it if you would utilize the pronoun "I" in future emails when stating your opinion on where the archive should or should not be. And so what if it winds up in Ohio? Or New York? Or Pennsylvania? Or New Jersey? I would like you to relay to me and the rest of the dues paying members, on this list or otherwise, your personal comparative analysis of all the potential locations. You think it belongs in Steamtown. OK. Why is Steamtown better than Youngstown State University or Cleveland State University? Is it simply because Cleveland and Youngstown are in Ohio? And therefore, far from you? Describe your visits to these institutions, your study of their facilities, and the conversations you have had with their leadership and why you think Steamtown is the better choice. Please enlighten the dues paying members and the board. And don't forget that there are over 1000 members of the ELHS. I do not claim to know, but I doubt that a majority of them are on this list. No one is saying your opinion or that of the other ELHS members is not valid. But if it is not supported by fact or practical experience, what good is it?
