Since there seemed to be some interest here we go-

 

3, 1869 The DL&W gains control of the Syracuse, Binghamton, and New York

31, 1857  Syracuse & Binghamton changes name to Syracuse, Binghamton, and
New York            

16, 1927  Woman walks in front of train in Cortland and is killed

30, 1927  William T. Wolfe promoted to Cortland yardmaster

8, 1932  The Lehigh milk train leaves twelve hours late account of snow

1, 1934  First air conditioned cars on the DL&W

12, 1934  DL&W and LV officials meet at LV passenger station to discuss
consolidation of engine and freight depots, same day the DL&W southbound
milk train derails a car while switching in Little York

20, 1935  DL&W engineer gets foot stuck in stoker on norhtbound freight,
possibly breaking it, rides in Caboose to Cortland then to hospital

18, 1936  LV engine 2093 detour passenger train #9 from Pittston, PA to
Syracuse, doubleheads with PRR 3678 on DL&W stone train south

?, 1936  PRR engine 3678 detour passenger train #5 from Taylor, PA to
Syracuse, doubleheads with LV 2093 on DL&W stone train south

13, 1939  Lehigh engine derails in Cortland yard account of snow

29, 1940  Lehigh uses a rotary to open up the line

19(?), 1941  Lehigh service suspended between Truxton and Canastota for 2
days due to weather, same time period DL&W plough derails in Tully, line
blocked for two days

20, 1948 Landslide at Chenango Forks blocks railroad for the day, passengers
bussed Whitney Point-Binghamton

 

?, 1976 Penn Central on the ground near Rome, NY, detours via Utica,
Chenango Forks, and Syracuse

31, 1976  Last day of Lehigh & EL service

13, 1928  All steel coaches on the DL&W

31, 1929  Truck driver killed when freight train strikes his truck in
Killawog

3, 1930  Cortland yardmaster Ford Sparrow to Syracuse, replaced by Jack
O'Connor from Binghamton

22, 1935  Burning refrigerator car brought from Cortland Junction to
passenger depot for firemen

21, 1936  Safety award presented to S&U division workers and employees in
Binghamton

2, 1937  Car strikes train at James Street in Homer, minor injuries

29, 1937  Streamstyled #1115 on a train, being broken in, new air horn noted
in the paper as well

14, 1939  Last mixed train on Cincinnatus branch

4, 1948  14 car passenger train, loaded to the brim

4, 1949  Fireman injures finger in Homer, caught between firebox doors

5, 1958  Pullman service discontinued

20, 1996 Blizzard of 1996 detour of D&H train 258 with NS power

10-12, 2002  Detours of CSX trains due to derailment at Little Falls, NY
