RE: (erielack) Scranton Implosion



They were architecturally beautiful buildings, but most were in some state
of disrepair, and generally not useful in today's (architecturally boring)
big-box retail arena. I photographed most of those buildings for a college
project in 1979, and I cherish those photographs. I wish I had also
photographed the DL&W city yard behind the buildings a little more, but I
foolishly thought it would always be there intact...alas, the yard is but a
shadow of its former self.

This happened quite a number of years ago. Today this site is the "Mall
at Steamtown."
