(erielack) More on EL U23Bs/GP38-2's



A few other interesting observations about the EL's cancelled order of
U23B's:

* The EL was still going "low profile" with these, and the painting
diagram shows the horns mounted in the "low profile" position (the top
of the horns was even with the roof)
* The roof was to be painted black - and this after the EL shop folks
dispensed with the black roof on repaints.
* The EL class for these was to be MFG-23D-6 (MU-equipped, Freight
diesel, General Electric, 2300 HP, Dynamic brakes, 26L brake system)

We can probably assume the GP38-2s would share these traits (so Joshua,
if you're painting them up, they'll need low-profile fans!)

The GP38-2 class would have been MFE-20D-6 (same logic as above, but "E"
is for EMD)
