Re: (erielack) EL around Youngstown



   I remember working at Ferrona yard in 1960 or so and we had a Baldwin 
switcher  with orders to go 'up the hill' with 10 cars of ore to the 
shenango furnace on a hill just above the yard. It wa a hard pull and the 
old baldwin was down on its' knees at the top where we spotted the ore and 
gathered up a few MT hoppers & did some switching for the trip back down. 
There was 1 or 2 blast furnaces up there and they were mainly served by the 
PRR, but the ERIE had this one track up the hill. One job I NEVER worked out 
of Ferrona was the Newcastle run, but that was held by some old-timers.
