Re: (erielack) LV Depot in Buffalo



Phil,

Without looking at Archer's book, I believe the LV was making a lot
of money and wanted to show it. The LV had one of the largest lake
freighter fleets and refused to divest itself in 1915. It took the case to
the Supreme Court. They had a large pressense in Buffalo, what with
their Tift Farm canals, ore and coal docks, plus 50% ownership of
the Buffalo Creek RR.
