I wonder if their is anything in the Akron Archives about the other logo entries or if they
were all just thrown out.

makes me laugh in a few ways - "how things change":
* "employe" was spelled with one trailing "E" in those days
* Note the ever-popular "show model" holding the new logo design, in
those less-than-politically-correct days ;)
* There were 2400 entries?!? I, too, would love to see some of those.
* They managed to get away with a nifty new logo for the whopping price
of 20 shares of stock. I believe my employer just shelled out $1 million
for our new logo! :)
