For anybody wishing to look at the last Conrail track chart of the line
(dated 1999), it
can be found online (PDF format, look at pages 123-132 specifically)
http://www.multimodalways.org/docs/railroads/companies/CR/CR%20Track%20Charts/CR%20Albany%20Track%20Chart%201999.pdf
It lists all the customer locations, sidings, etc, condition of the
infrastructure,
size of the rails, last dates which various maintenance was performed,
grades, curves,
road crossings, signals, you name it.
Ya know, the Pennsy may have been broke in 1967, but it sure didn't stop
them from buying 152
and 155 rail and installing it on this line!
All of the rail installation dated 88 (1988) was part of the big Conrail
CWR program to make
the line 100% CWR in response to shedding the south end of the Corning
Secondary.
Also, for those interested...
pgs 142-187 of the above chart cover the ex-Erie from Buffalo to Suffern.
pgs 303-306 cover the ex-DL&W from Painted Post to Bath.
pgs 320-334 cover the ex-Erie from the NY/PA line (Niobe) to Hornell.
