For those of you in the area, the WNYRHS will have their annual
Train Show Feb 24 & 25. As always, you will find a good selection
of EL items.

Rail fans will relive Blizzard of 1977

2/9/2007 

The 30th anniversary of the blizzard that derailed Western 
New York will be commemorated by railroad fans this month 
at the annual winter Train and Toy Show held by the Western 
New York Railway Historical Society in the International 
Agri-Center at the Hamburg Fairgrounds on South Park Avenue. 
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 24 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25. 

The huge New York Central rotary plow used to clear tracks during 

the Blizzard of 1977 was rescued from decades of storage in Syracuse 

to become part of the society's collection, and pictures of the railroad 

snowblower and other rail plows in action will be on display. 

Toy trains, collectibles, models, large-scale steam trains, a circus train 

display model and operating model railroad layouts also will be featured.
