List: The only track remaining on the Erie's Salamanca to Dunkirk line is Cattaraugus to Dayton, but it has been out of service for several years. In its November 2006 issue, Railpace Magazine reported rehabilitation of the line "south of Cherry Creek" (?) . In February 2007, Railpace reported that NY&LE was in the process of having the FRA embargo on that line lifted and plans to install new rail as soon as possible with the goal "to connect with the WNY&P at Salamanca" (?). Inaccuracies and inconsistencies with current facts makes me wonder what really is going on. Does anyone know?
