Attached is a news article from the Buffalo Evening News of
October 5, 1962 concerning the "new" EL passenger depot
in East Buffalo yards to replace the downtown DL&W depot.

Prior to the decision to locate here, the City of Buffalo and
other rail interests wanted the EL to move to the NYC terminal
or take over the LV pasenger depot on Dingens St which the
LV quit using in 1960 when they terminated passenger service
to Buffalo. Prior to 1954, the Erie used the LV's downtown
terminal on Main Street . The attached photo from 1952 shows
an LV PA ready to leave. (Francis Strong, LLMHS Collection)
