Re: (erielack) CR Hist Soc attempting to preserve C366

Mike,

At the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum
(www.rgvrrm.org), we hope to someday preserve a Conrail N-21 caboose
in Conrail paint as they were built for Conrail in 1978. We have
already taken three Conrail cabooses out of their Conrail paint so we
have actively contributed to the lack of Conrail preservation. Two
are restored already to paint schemes they once had (Erie C254 [phew I
got the Erie content into my note for Paul ;0)] and PC18526), and the
last (PRR 477822 N5C) is in primer awaiting shop space. I have to
complete our Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh caboose first.

Last year, we did have a chance at fully restored N-21 in
Conrail paint, but were second in line. The first guy took it and
sent it out to California. So, there is a fully restored Conrail
N-21 caboose running around in CA somewhere. Anyone seen it?

Anyway, if anyone knows of an available Conrail N-21, I would
love to hear about it. Personally, I wouldn't mind an Erie bay window
either to mate up with our C254. An LV cupola caboose would be nice
too, but I am digressing too far...

Until later,
Chris Hauf
