I have been looking at the recent pictures on George Elwood's site and
it shows a lot of EL engines with a few RDG, CNJ, and LV units located
at Columbus, Ohio in 1976 and 77. The pictures seem to indicate that EL
was the last operator of the ALCO RS2's and 3's and that they were put
on the deadline almost immediately after CR took over. It appears that
CR was taking the GE U-25B's or all previous carriers out of service as
well. What was going on in Columbus at this time? Did CR have shops
there? Where the RS's scrapped there?
