(erielack) steam era photos

My hobby is collecting steam era railroad photos.

The problem with ordering from from a list like Cal's Classics is that some of the photos are less than excellent quality. Does anyone have a list of the prints that they have from Cal (so they don't buy duplicates)? How about northeast photos from Bob's photos? From Bob Pennisi (Railroad Avenue)? From Bob Pastorsky? Does he still sell prints?

It's getting hard to buy B&W photo paper. Kodak discontinued it last year.

Bob of Bob's photos has a different business than the other guys. He has prints made up by a professional processor. His big cost is traveling to and from shows. If he prints up a negative which doesn't sell he ends up eating it. He could sell prints for much less through the mail.

I think posting photos that are still available from the owner of a negative is unethical. Sometimes it's uncertain if anyone still has the negative. Many steam era photographers
are deceased. Harold Vollrath is still around. Anything is lists as a 1 is perfect. Same for John LaRue who has a lot of MOW & cabooses.
