^Tell u what, Bob & the rest of u guys on the list............if u want to see SPEED on the area of the Water Gap, get a tape or dvd from the guy in Tampa who does train videos. One of his earliest, THE GLORY DAYS, has several B&W movie cuts from the west side of the new concrete bridge over the Delaware. He'd set up his camera on the south side of the curve and filmed 4-8-4s, 4-6-4s, 4-6-2s etc., just roaring off the bridge and into the curve that led down to the interlocking where the cutoff joined the old mainline. Those old steam guys were really rolling judging from the flying siderods and drivingwheels. Everytime I look at it, I'm impressed with the DL&W. There's a little vignette of an old engineer taking his pension. The superintendent with top hat & all stands in front of the engine & the engineer looks like some of the oldheads I worked with, but the film was probly shot in the 1910-20 era judging from the clothing plus the engine was an old slide-valve 2-8-0 (no modern power).
