Re: (erielack) Winter wishes

Paul,

I have 8mm color movies I took while working at Dover Tower in 1970 of a former DL&W flanger working west powered by an RS3. As the train was at speed aprroaching the station, an air hose uncoupled and everything ground to a halt. The crew recoupoled the hose, got their air and continued operating westbound.

A few years back, I had asked if anyone had photos of EL snow-fighting
equipment in action, and the answer was "no."

My good friend Charlie Berkemeyer lent me a whole pile of B&W negatives he
shot in the late 60s/early 70s, and I came across the attached gems: He
managed to catch Port Jervis-based flanger 414190 being shoved by SDP45 3650
and trailed by caboose C336 on a frigid cold January 11, 1970. The attached
shots show it going past the station platform at Arden, NY, and flying
through Monroe, NY.

Enjoy YOUR winter! :)
