As of October, they were owned by RMDI (an equipment broker), and being evaluated for purchase by the Utah Transit Authority for service out of Salt Lake City. I'm not sure what's happened since then. See this link for an interesting evaluation report on the condition of the coaches:http://www.rideuta.com/files/Comet-I-Inspection101106.pdfInterestingly enough, one of the evaluators was Richard Curtis, "a structural/truck engineer and the original Pullman car mechanical designer for the Comet cars." The report also serves as an instructive assessment of NJT's maintenance practices, particularly surrounding the HVAC systems.----- Original Message -----From: ELRRB65_@_aol.comDate: Thursday, December 7, 2006 9:43 pmSubject: Re: (erielack) Re: NJ Transit Coaches @ Susquehanna, PATo: erielack@lists.elhts.org> In a message dated 12/7/2006 12:25:40 PM Eastern Standard Time, > crnflks@aol.com writes:> Yesterday on my way home from a business trip in Syracuse I > drove through > Susquehanna, PA enroute to Starrucca (pictures attached and btw -> what a great > achievement for the Erie, and still in great shape 160 years > later!)
