I want to correct a statement I made a while back in a review of Athearn's re-released 85' TOFC car in r-t-r version. One of the roadnames uses an "STTX" reporting mark, which I said was incorrect because it applied to 89' cars in twin-45 configuration equipped with sliding bridge plates, beginning in the early 80's. Today I happened to come across a reference to an earlier STTX series used until 1968 on 85' and other cars which were assigned to (leased by?) specific shippers, presumably forwarders like Acme and Clipper for Plan IV business.
