Well, no -- I don't consider the IR center cab "cute." But my opinon doesn't
matter. What matters is whether a manufacturer sees a public that considers it
cute and worth buying. Prototype accuracy takes a back seat to popularity in
marketing. as witnessed by many, many examples of good sellers which have no
basis in fact. Here are several:

Bachman is currently selling a "Galloping Goose" in On30 in a warbonnet scheme.

We've all seen the HO Erie E8 B-units. And PBs, too -- in several scales.

We soon will see a duplex roomette sleeper in Erie colors.

I have no beef (any more) with the "close is good enough" or "I like it so I'll
buy it" school. It's only a hobby, and happiness should come first.
After all, I am having fun with the Erie's New York & New England in the early
'50s in O scale, and the roster includes Erie gas-electric 5016, a PBM derived
from the Walthers kit. I also paint and letter most of my cars differently on
the two sides, to double their number and their color scemes.

I'll liven up a grey November afternoon with another opinion: I think there are
many more people who will buy what they like, no matter its absolute accuracy,
than there are those who refuse to buy anything at all incorrect. In other
words, the daisy pickers far outnumber the rivet counters. F'rinstance, how
many of y'all are running troop sleepers/express cars on those neat Allied Full
Cushion trucks even though they were outlawed early on?

. . .And a manufacturer would be up to some pretty bad bashing if they dared
paint up an IR centercab in PRR!

P.S. You consider the IR centercab to be "cute?" :)
