Re: (erielack) DL&W Pioneer



Frank,

Taber includes a brief description of the "Pioneer" on p227 and 229.  Some 
additional info can be found on page232 in the comparison of the 1936 and 
1954 schedules.

Briefly, the "Pioneer", symboled HC-1 replaced #19 6/24/1946 on a 9 hour, 55 
minute schedule to Buffalo and transfer to the Nickel Plate for a 33 hour 
schedule to Chicago.  By deduction, the train left Hoboken at 7 PM, 
Cleveland at 1PM next day and Chicago 4AM the day after.
