The Syracuse Yards during their final years. The rusting freight cars in the
yards. Not just EL cars in rough shape either, many pre-CR roadnames. The
yards themselves which sometimes even lie empty. Unused portions of the
yards which hadn't seen a steel wheel in many years, evidenced by the cut
rail. The time worn Rice Coal Co. silos near the Geddes Street overpasses.
The sidings that jutted out from the yard crossing Fayette Street to serve
single-car sidings. All these things are gone now and that may seem sad to
some. I'm just glad I did get to see them before they were gone forever.
