Re: (erielack) CWR on the EL



I wonder where the rail came from? I doubt the EL had funds to go out and buy new cwr, so it must have been relay. I'd be surprised if EL didn't do some of this the cheap way (the way they did almost everything else): field-welding.

  When the welded rail was installed between CM Jct and Lottsville on the C&E RR east of Meadville it was unloaded in 1/4 mile strings, previously welded at some plant.
