RE: (erielack) Re: Nickle Plate Products

Guys

This discussion has me somewhat confused. I have pulled out my NPP box identified as an ERIE N-1 2-8-2. I see no feedwater heater on the top of the boiler or on the front of the smokebox. There is no tag indicating x/y. I would be curious to know what I got since it doesn't seem to fit anything discussed.

The Brown Book of Brass Locomotives shows that 4 versions of the N-1s were produced in 1984. The quantity for each was listed as 25. Following notes were also included:

1] 1123: #3040-3145 with Elesco FW heater on boiler front
2] 1124: #3152 (ref MR 4/84 pg.45) available custom painted for $65 extra
3] 1125: #3007 with Elesco FW heater on top of boiler
4] 1126: #3024 with Elesco FW heater on boiler front, high pilot ladders.

I had not realized there were 4 versions, but am glad I was able to get 2, one with FW heater on top of boiler and one with FW heater on front of boiler.
