(erielack) Cement Question
William D. Middleton's article in TRAINS on Lackawanna's use of concret brought up an interesting question. With all of the stations and bridges being built with reinforced concrete, I've often wondered why the High Bridge in West Paterson on the Boonton Line was made out of steel? Possibly cost was an issue -- maybe it was cheaper to make a bridge that size out of steel. Any thoughts?
