Leaving aside the question of whether someone could really hike all the way from Kent to Meadville in 3 days (must have set a good pace!), I have to question what good that would do.  I mean, you couldn't learn both the 1st and 2nd subdivisions that way without going back a second time, could you?

 I remember working on the ERIE Mahoning Div'n as an operator and asking a dispatcher (Ray Brody) how he managed to learn the road. I was advised that he got a knapsack & left Kent & WALKED all the way to Meadville (in 3 days). WHAT a difference!
