I have been away for two weeks but I see, having clawed through over 300
emails since arriving back home yesterday that there was only one comment on the
above unit.

YEA, YEA, I know there not going to change there whole hood configuration to
model a particular RR.

With that said, I guess they picked the closest Lackawanna unit they could.

There model doesn't have Dynamic Brakes thus the 901-904 would be
appropriate.
There model doesn't have battery type boxes out the fireman's door, thus the
901-904 would be appropriate.
There model has the stack repositioned thus by that date most, if not all
had been repainted with the larger roman numbers.
Note: only the 903 got repainted with the Lettering up top like the 911-918
always wore because of the louver configuration on the sides.

The biggest complaint is the (pale) yellow hand rails which are yellow
plastic, don't come close to the yellow used on the numbers, lettering and steps.
They should all be the same. I think they know that, so why don't they just
paint them?

Having produced the model since 1999, do we think its time for them to
produce additional parts that many if not most road modelers could use? Like non
twin seal beam head lights? Dynamic Brake parts? Optional stack placement?
Side walk way boxes? These are not drastic changes that mean changing the
whole side of the car body.

For those that want to get into detail modeling, there are lots of things
that a Lackawanna fan could start to do with these units to further make them
right. For those who aren't detailed modelers, Atlas Thanks YOU.

Enough Said.

PS Does any one out there know the where about's of a John Nelsen that did
a very detailed article on RS3 in the Aug 1984 issue of Mainline Modeler?
Please advise off list if you do.
