Paul, In the early CR days there was a lot of to-do about diverting boxcar traffic into intermodal trailers. Problem here though, was that if it didn't go into trailers, it would go away period. MLB is probably still more expensive than the all-water route, though the rates have come down a lot in the last few years. As you know, this traffic is pretty much marketed on the "ten days to two weeks faster" basis. Liz and DKNY want their goods for the sales in Macy's this Friday, not next week!
