Paul T. and List, Last year, a friend of mine and long-time railroader, Matt Wronski, showed me a number of photos he and his father took back in 1963-1964. These were of EL passenger trains coming into the East Buffalo station at SK Yard. IIRC, they were of Train 15, the OWL. He pointed out that between the "Rider" car and the train proper, the EL placed a boxcar. He told me that EL management had some problems with the deadheading crews mixing with the passengers, and that the boxcar was placed there to isolate the "Rider" car. This practice lasted about a year. Was this done on other trains? Has anyone heard of this practice? Could the boxcars have been for some other purpose, and if so, would they have been placed on the end of the train? Ronald R.
