Re: (erielack) Lackawanna Locomotive Classifications

Lister:

Two things with Erie and Lackawanna content:

Has anyone else seen the life size photo of a Lackawanna Camelback on the
abutment of the Transit (ex-Lackawanna) tracks over Route 21 as you come
into Newark's Broad Street Station? If you are traveling west on the train
(southbound on Route 21) it is on the South side (right side in a car if you
are southbound on 21). I can't get the number from where I sit in the train.

NS has apparently put a switch in between the Old Third track and what is
left of the NY&GL line at the east end (before the grade to what was once
the connection to West End). They are storing long cuts of container flats
and, sometimes locomotives, on both tracks as far west as DB interlocking.
The Interlocking is not longer in service so they can shove the cars past
the westbound interlocking signal under Amtrak's High Line.
